We had a blast hosting our first-ever EastLake-Con! It was so fun to gather together as a church network and grow in our leadership and ministry skills. We had such a great turnout and great feedback that we are already making plans for next year! Thanks to everyone who attended EastLake-Con and helped make our workshop sessions so productive. We had a blast dreaming, planning, and praying with all of you!
What a tremendous Easter weekend all across our EastLake Network Churches! We saw over 10,000 people attend one of our 30 services and hundreds of people make first time decisions or recommitments to Christ. Thanks to all who have given to Cannonball that has made our network so far reaching and so open to our communities.
Last Friday night we launched Night of Hope at EastLake Chula Vista, which is one night with four different opportunities to experience hope and healing. We had over 700 people on campus participating in either the Re-Engage marriage seminar, Celebrate Recovery, Divorce Care or Grief Share. These support groups are designed to provide community, resources, and tools as people navigate through some of life’s toughest challenges.
EastLake Church Playas celebrated their third anniversary by opening up a brand new space for kids. Thanks to all of you who participate in Cannonball, we are able to make more room for kids to play. Baptism Weekend! A huge congrats to all of those who were baptized a few weekends ago in our Baptism Weekend! It is so awesome to see all of you make that next right step in your faith journey. And thanks to everyone who gives to Cannonball; your generosity enables us to keep providing these faith moments in the life of our churches.
There’s no other word to describe what went down across the EastLake Church Network last weekend! Almost 4,000 of us teamed up in over 220 projects totalling 17,711 hours from Venice to Pasadena to Temecula to La Jolla to Chula Vista to Imperial Beach to Tijuana blessing our communities and loving our cities. The stories that have come from this weekend of service have been amazing and you will not want to miss church this weekend as we recap the love that was unleashed upon Chula Vista. Thank you to everyone who weeded, lifted, built, painted, scrubbed, loved, drove, packed, prayed, sacrificed, and served. This community is different this week because of you!
Our project website, iheartcv.com, will live on and continue to be a hub for you to find a place to keep serving and staying connected to ongoing projects in Chula Vista. You can use it as a resource for your family or growth group to find ways to keep the momentum going and making a difference.
Trunk or Treat was one of the biggest events we’ve ever hosted on campus here in Chula Vista. If you were there you witnessed just how fun and crazy it was! The trunks, the costumes, THE CANDY! It was an awesome night. Check this out for a small taste of this awesome event.
Our annual beach baptism at Dunes Park in Imperial Beach is one of our favorite events of the year. It’s a day for our ELC family to connect and have fun celebrating those taking the plunge. This year we were able to celebrate over 140 people getting baptized! Congrats to everyone who made this step of faith and thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a fun day. If you give to Cannonball, our two-year generosity initiative, you help make these baptisms happen as well, so thanks for investing in ELC! For a gallery of photos from the day click here.
