Our annual beach baptism at Dunes Park in Imperial Beach is one of our favorite events of the year. It’s a day for our ELC family to connect and have fun celebrating those taking the plunge. This year we were able to celebrate over 140 people getting baptized! Congrats to everyone who made this step of faith and thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a fun day. If you give to Cannonball, our two-year generosity initiative, you help make these baptisms happen as well, so thanks for investing in ELC! For a gallery of photos from the day click here. What a great day at Torrey Pines Church. Congratulations to all who got baptized. We are with you in this and so proud of you.
We are so grateful to GOD for giving us the opportunity to be his hands and feet here in Tijuana! People Helping people find and follow JESUS! 20 people decided announce to the world that JESUS is their SAVIOR by being baptized.
Last weekend EastLake Church Playas was able to distribute 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to school children in need in Tijuana. It was an awesome way to finish off the backpack project, which started a few weeks back up at Torrey Pines Church, as a team of volunteers gathered to prep the backpacks. Talk about a family win! Thanks to everyone who gave of their time to make this happen and who participates in Cannonball, which makes these outreaches possible.
Sunday at Venice Church was AMAZING! 19 people publicly declared that Jesus is the rescuer and redeemer of their lives. Check out this video for a small sample of what we all experienced Sunday afternoon at Venice Beach.
What do you get when you combine a live mariachi band, fresh churros, awesome volunteers, and some amazing news? EastLake In, of course! If you missed it, you missed out, because we had a blast and celebrated the big news that our EastLake Tijuana location will be launching a new church in 2018: EastLake Zona Rio. We also celebrated some of our amazing volunteers who help make ELC run, as well as celebrating some of the major family wins from the first half of the year. Thanks for everyone who came out and participated in this epic evening. Viva La Familia!
Over 300 kids invaded our campus last week for “Gadgets and Gizmos” summer camp! The kids were assigned to a team for the week and rotated between stations with crazy games, crafts, snacks, and fun lessons on growing in their walk with God. Thanks to everyone who volunteered to make this week so great for our awesome kiddos!
Following Camp United, our EastLake Students participated in a special baptism event just for students grades 6-12. It was an incredible evening as we saw over 50 middle and high school students take this next right step in their faith journey. It was a powerful moment to watch young people proclaim their faith publicly and with such joy. Thanks to everyone who stayed and celebrated this awesome choice!
Our annual summer camp for EastLake Students (grades 6-12) was truly Camp United this year as we had students and volunteers from Chula Vista, Imperial Beach, Torrey Pines, Venice and Playas. The week was full of fun and games along with faith-building messages, amazing live worship and intentional quiet time where students learned how to study their Bible and meet with God. It was an unbelievable experience to watch students grow in their faith and commit to living “beyond” themselves. The weekend following camp, we were able to celebrate over 50 students making the choice to get baptized in Chula Vista. We can’t wait to see how Camp United will launch our students into their classrooms and teams and activities to live a life on mission for Jesus.
Father’s Day at EastLake Church was an awesome chance for our dads to brush up on their #dadskills. It was fun celebrating our dads and helping them up their man game. Pictures of dads and families are available to view and download here.
